San Antonio has acquired Colombian midfielder, Cristian Palomeque, on a season-long loan from Colombian side, Atlético Nacional. Palomeque will become the Scorpions third player from the South American nation, joining Rafael Castillo in the midfield & other newcomer, Eduar Zea in the defense. This signing doesn't come as too much of a surprise as Twitter user @jxlozano1217 tweeted this out yesterday showing loan rumors swirling around Palomeque:
Cristian is only 20 years old but comes with a lot of experience both at the club & national team level. He "started every game at the 2013 U-20 World Cup in Turkey with the Colombian National Team" and "was part of the Colombian team that won the under-20 South American championship in Argentina" in 2013. His experience in big games and tournaments like those will definitely be an asset to Alen Marcina's club.
We are very excited to see what he brings to the team! He will also have a tremendous mentor in Rafael Castillo, who was instrumental in the Scorpions' NASL Championship last season.
